Gifts for Cancers

Hi, dear Cancers. I should be grateful if you would answer two questions: what gifts do you prefer to get and what gifts do you hate? I need this info for article. Thank you, friends. Your sincerely, Alexander, astrologer, Russia.

anything that shows the person was thinking of me and what i would like, no matter how small. i'm always touched when someone gets me something i mentioned that i liked in passing.

I really dont care as long as they gave me something. imgratefull for anything but if its something that took long thought into it or something that i had said a while back that i had wanted and then they surprised me with it. thats something i like. i really dont hate any gifts cuz like i said im grateful for anything.

Same as the people above...I'm grateful for anything. Some people think gift certificates or money are tacky, but I don't!...those are things that give you choices, and tell me the person cares so much about me that they'd like me to have total freedom to get what I'd really like.

Also as I've gotten older, I love "disposable" gifts...experiences...like, being taken out for a nice dinner, or an event. I don't need more "stuff"...nice memories mean more. ~

Adding to the "Same as above" I like gifts that show someone really is thinking of you no matter how small (even wild flowers picked just for me) or dinner at my fav resteraunt (if they can remember what my fav is) and we Cancers tend to drop little hints of our "fav" things to see if anyone is really paying attention.

Wish List

You can never go wrong giving a cancer cash, antique or foriegn coins, stock in a business. Some cancers like warbonds, or regular government bonds. I like all of the above, but I also enjoy gifts from the sea (shells, a trip to Red Lobster, etc.), books... I have always wanted a kilt made of Bicentenial tartan (red, white and blue)...

Anything with a prospect to be for sentamental value is a winner. Thought has gone into it is the key. Gifts are special regardless, but the ones that don't represent you at all are a little upsetting I guess.

I'm a new age and trinket fiend, so I generally love most things. I know it may be an insult to some, but getting practical things are great too, especially for the kitchen.

I agree with everyone above, but I'll dare to deviate a bit and touch upon a slightly materialistic tendency--- I once read Cancer's "were brand conscience" and I know this is true of me as well--- I tend to be very brand conscience, and in regards to higher monetary value possessions, I prefer high quality things--- be they electronics, clothing, etc., etc., to the point of even preferring reputable brand names in even the groceries I buy even if they cost a bit more.

Yep. I appreciate quality too, and will pay a higher price for quality goods at the mall or store.

Things I like:
Computer games.
Books (I don't have that I like).
DVD's of movies I like, CD's of music I like (no bootlegs).
Beautiful/inspiring pictures.
Clothing: Hah. Good luck picking something I like ;) Your best bet here would be baggy clothing that's uber comfortable and soft.

Things I hate:
I don't know if I really hate getting any gift. It's the thought that counts more than anything. There are gifts I won't use, and I, personally, don't like roses (darn thorns and too-strong aroma), but that's about it.

Hope this helps.

I guess, the roses must be liked by Leos :)

I prefer gifts that were well thought out.

Example: My one uncle every year used to get me a new Barbi thing, and I never could stand Barbi. My other uncle would get me Lego's instead and that was the coolest thing. It showed that he took the time to get to know me as a person and not just get me what the media tells people what little girls should like. It was also cool because he would come over and we would build things together. I got a great present and great company.

I'll echo everyone else and say something that shows you were listening when I mentioned something that I liked. But I like any type of gift because it means you were thinking of me. I prefer to not get clothes because I'm hard to fit, however, you can come with me while I pick it out. I'm also not a fan of anything too religious, but that's just me. Anything foodie or gourmet is nice along with jewelry, especially silver and pearls.

I hate and love getting gifts... I like trinkets.. small stuff.. things that have some meaning.. like with Jewelry.. it's gotta to be silver.. maybe there's a stone.. an Opal or a Moonstone or an Alexandrite.. maybe.. like the Sterling Silver Ring my aunt gave me for christmas a few years back.. continous linked watery swirls..

But I'm also way into Technology stuff.. I like my electronics.. I like my CD's.. geez.. almost anything thoughtful that I don't already have makes a great gift..

I love silver too :) My mom finally figured that out a couple years ago and stopped giving me gold earrings for Christmas. :P
The swirl ring sounds pretty.

I'll agree with just about everyone too. We are an agreeable bunch. :) I love it when someone's put some thought into something. That means a lot. I think the best gift someone ever gave me was to name a star after me. I was really touched.

The worst gift I ever got was something I knew had been picked in about 2 seconds. It was a table runner, given to me as a "scarf." It was too rough to use as a scarf (I later figured out what it was for), and it had the price tag still on it. This from a guy I'd been dating for quite a few months (needless to say, we're no longer together)!

It really depends on the person.

i dont like roses either... i think they are too 'expected' and easy to fall back on. id rather have tulips or lily's or something else. something that takes some thought.

i like smelly things...candle's, incense. photo albums, frame's. lil' figurine's like fairy's, money!!! love money and gift certificate's.

hate.... random ass crap that does not associate w/ me at all.

As most people already commented, well thought out gifts... an unusal but very "me" gift. My boyfriend always catches the lil things i say and gets those for me such as before we started dating i told him i loved pink tulips but are hard to get because they are not year around. some how he came across some and gave them to me.

Silver?

You know, I'm noticing a lot of people mentioning silver. I only find this interesting enough to point out because I love silver as well. Strange.

Re: Silver?

that is weird... I don't like silver but that's cause im alergic to it... but i only wear white gold jewleary so i guess that if i wasn't alergic to silver i would wear that and not gold... maybe its a cancer thing for liking silver more than gold... if im not wrong on our profile silver is one of out two colors... might mean something...

Gifts that have meaning. Favorite perfume or incense/candles. Something that shows the person knows you.

Alexander, after your article is completed, would you be willing to post it in our humble little community, or post a link to it? I think most all of us would be a tad bit curious at least, and no doubt, grateful.
